Legacy/History

Global Legacy

Global began in 1964 as a joint venture of Owl International, Inc. and Atlas Corporation. Global’s initial contract was the Operation and Maintenance of the U. S. Army Kwajalein Missile Range, and was retained for more than 25 years. Business with the Department of Defense expanded with a number of contract awards in the ensuing years.

In 1987, Global formed a joint venture with PCCI called GPC, which was awarded the Emergency Ship Salvage Material (ESSM) Maintenance contract in 1989. With Global as the managing partner, this contract has been successfully retained through multiple bids.

In 1989, the parent corporation of Owl International, Inc., consolidated ownership of Global and continued the growth and diversification of services to all branches of the U. S. Armed Forces. The various commands that Global has contracted with are the Army, Navy, Airforce and NASA.

In 1991, Global won the first Regional Training Sites-Medical (RTS-Med) contract awarded by the U. S. Army Forces Command. This contract initiated training as a Global strength and led to the expansion into the Department of Labor Job Corps Center (JCC) operation in 1993. Global acquired Career Systems Development Corporation (CSDC) in 2001 and subsequently consolidated its education and training operations under CSDC.

In 2005, Global was acquired by 1st Flagship, Inc. and it became a 100% woman-owned, small business with the primary goal of service contracting with U. S. Government Agencies and with the private sector.
